okay time for the teej to level with you guys. this is amanda. she’s the girl i met through tumblr not too long ago. she’s the coolest person in the world and i love love her and we’re soulmates etc etc. BUT she’s a state worker and this bill is a 10% pay cut to her. but much worse, it strips her and her public servant cohorts of their collective bargaining rights and it gives the state the power to fire strikers without any due process. it’s a raw deal designed to bust unions and weaken workers across the state. it’s called the “budget repair bill”. i’ve been an armchair kind of progressive—GAY MARRIAGE GOOD, WAR EVIL, HEALTHCARE A HUMAN RIGHT—but i’m really scared for amanda right now and the future of my state so i will protest whenever i can.
